Figure Eight Tracing
About This Exercise
Figure eight tracing enhances eye muscle flexibility and coordination. This exercise helps improve smooth eye movements and can reduce strain from repetitive focusing tasks.
Instructions
1
Find your focus point
Imagine a large figure eight (or infinity symbol ∞) about 10 feet in front of you.
2
Trace horizontally
Slowly trace the figure eight with your eyes, moving horizontally. Keep your head still and move only your eyes.
3
Complete 10 cycles
Trace the figure eight 10 times in one direction, moving smoothly and continuously.
4
Reverse direction
Now trace the figure eight 10 times in the opposite direction.
5
Try vertical
For an added challenge, rotate the figure eight 90 degrees and trace it vertically, 10 times in each direction.
